1972 – The first KFC restaurant opens in the Netherlands – in Rotterdam to be precise. KFC now has more than eighty restaurants in the Netherlands! And that's not all. We have the ambition to open many more restaurants.
1980 – Our iconic founder dies at the age of XNUMX. Colonel Harland Sanders is still our figurehead. He brought people together at one table from the start – a bucket brings people closer together.
2016 – We open our fiftieth restaurant in Rijswijk along the A13 motorway – a milestone! We are always expanding so that more and more people can enjoy our dishes.
2019 – We only prepare chicken that has lived according to the animal welfare standards of the European Union and we sign the Better Chicken Commitment – ​​a treaty between food production companies to improve the welfare of chickens.
2020 – During the National Week Without Meat, KFC Rotterdam Binnenwegplein only serves vegetarian dishes. KFC's first vegetarian restaurant in the world!
2021 – We are busy reducing our plastic use. For example, we are replacing plastic packaging with paper packaging. We want all our packaging to be recycled by 2025.
